A legacy of patient-centered and community-based care since 1910.
With its wide provincial network, PTSI actively implements the Community Outreach Program and Education (COPE) Initiative in eight field branches across the country. Through COPE, PTSI finds and treats TB patients in areas with limited access to public health facilities. PTSI also disseminates information and education on TB in several hard-to-reach areas across the Philippines.
PTSI was designated as a COVID testing facility by the Department of Health (DOH) at the start of the pandemic. The Quezon Institute hosted its own Modular Hospital and Dormitory, a treatment and quarantine facility for moderate to severe cases.
The 110-bed facility was managed and operated by the Jose R. Reyes Memorial Hospital and built in partnership with the DOH and Department of Public Works and Highways. It was the first-of-its-kind model for other field hospitals in the country.
The annual TB Seals Campaign has been one of
the Society’s major fundraising activities since its founding in 1910. PTSI’s TB Seals have won awards in the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases’ (The Union) Christmas Seals contest held each year among The Union’s different member countries.
PTSI 2022 TB Seals “Filipino Christmas Traditions”, highlights the positive spirit that Christmas brings to each and every one. It is a shout-out to the world that the Filipinos’ hope for a brighter future will never fade.
